BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:00 A.M.) – The Kurdish-led People’s Protection Units continued their operations against the Turkish-backed rebels in the Afrin region this week.
According to the official media wing of the YPG, their troops killed two Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters inside the city-center of Afrin this past weekend.
“On September 9th, YPG carried a successful operation, targeting a military vehicle of the Sham Legion (Faylaq al-Sham) in the Sterk village, located near the city center of Afrin,” the YPG statement said.
As a result, the vehicle itself was completely destroyed, while both of the FSA rebels nside of the car were killed. In addition, two AK-47 were seized,” it added.
Despite the ongoing curfew in Afrin, the YPG has managed to bypass the Turkish-backed rebels and carry out more attacks inside this region located in northwestern Aleppo.
