BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:00 A.M.) – The Kurdish-led People’s Protection Units (YPG) laid a well-timed ambush against a group of Turkish-backed rebels in the Afrin region of Aleppo recently.
According to the official media wing of the YPG, their sleeper cell ambushed and killed three Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters inside the town of Shera, which is in the Afrin region of northwest Aleppo.
Based on the footage released on Tuesday, the YPG fighters disguised themselves in civilian clothing before approaching the fighters from the Al-Hamza Division of the Free Syrian Army.
The YPG said in their statement that their fighters have now switched to wearing civilian clothing when carrying out these attacks, which will help disguise them from the Free Syrian Army and their allies.
