BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:40 P.M.) – The Kurdish-led People’s Protection Units (YPG) carried out a special operation in the Afrin region of northwest Aleppo this week that killed several Turkish military personnel.
According to the official media wing of the YPG, their troops carried out a powerful attack on a Turkish military outpost in the Sherawa District of the Afrin region yesterday.
“On December 13th, our unit carried out a successful operation, targeting the positions of the invader Turkish army in Kimar village of Afrin’s Sherawa district,” the YPG statement began.
“As a result, the enemy outpost was destroyed and five Turkish soldiers were killed,” they added.
Below is the YPG video that was released from the Afrin region:
While the Turkish Ministry of Defense reported that one of their soldiers was killed as a result of shelling from the Tal Rifa’at area, this video from yesterday shows that it was actually the YPG in the Sherawa District.
