The Kurdish led People’s protection units carried out a new operation inside the Afrin region of northwestern Aleppo this week.

According to the official media wing of the YPG, one of their sleeper cells ambushed a group of Turkish backed rebels during the afternoon hours on September 5.

Below is the full statement and video from Afrin:

“On September 5th, our forces carried out a successful operation in the Dikmedash village of Afrin’s Shera district,  targeting a military vehicle belonging to the Levant Front mercenary fraction. One of the mercenaries was responsible for the economical interests of the Levant Front in occupied Afrin and was selling the olives, houses and belongings that mercenaries had stolen from Afrin’s people.

As a result of action, two mercenaries were killed and two others, including the mentioned one, were wounded. The vehicle itself was completely destroyed.

The names of mercenaries killed and wounded are as follows: Hussein Elito (from Tel Rifaat), Mazen Chawish (Damascus), Omar Kino (Azaz) and Abdulrahman al-Jadir (Jerablus).”

Excellent!
Now that the clean up in As Sweida is almost complete, I would expect the SAA and the Russian Air Force to get into the thick of the Idlib campaign.
I would expect that the Kurds and YPG, in league with or without the SAA, will carry out more of these hit and run attacks on the Turks and their FSA toadies.
