BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:00 P.M.) – The pro-government Yemeni Army launched a large-scale attack in the Taiz Governorate of western Yemen on Monday, targeting the areas under the control of the Ansarallah forces (var. Houthi).

According to reports, the Yemeni Army launched a large-scale attack on the positions of the Ansarallah forces in the  Al-Rabah, Jabal Al-Qarn, Najd al-Tair and Tabab Yassin areas west of Taiz city.

While no gains were reported, Yemen’s Al-Masirah TV said that the Ansarallah forces had already repelled the large-scale offensive, adding that scores of Yemeni Army soldiers were killed in the process.

No further details were released at this time.

At the same time, the Ansarallah forces have managed to capture several areas inside the Marib Governorate of northern Yemen, putting their troops in positions of entering the Al-Jawf Governorate.

This latest advance by the Ansarallah forces comes after they managed to capture the entire Nihm District of western Sanaa.
