After a few triumphant weeks for the Houthi forces, their tribal allies, and the Yemeni Republican Guard against the Saudi Coalition on multiple fronts, the Yemeni insurgency inflicted an even larger blow yesterday when a missile struck a Saudi camp.

The missile targeted Jahf Camp south of Ta’iz currently occupied by the Saudi Armed Forces. This camp had been very instrumental as both a launching point for the loyalist forces on Ta’iz front and as an operational base to stop Houthi advances south of Ta’iz onto Lahaj and Aden.

The missile launched was an OTR-21 Tochka strategic missile. The anti-Saudi forces claimed that this attack killed 179 soldiers. While the number may seem too large to be true, previous missile attacks launched on Saudi bases have been devastating to similar proportions.

OTR-21 has a 482kg warhead, several types can be used, including nuclear and chemical but wthout going WMD, the fragmentation warhead has a +200m lethal radius and ifever they cooked some mix of fuel air/frag.
What the guy is barking is what’s written on houthi flag : “God is Great, Death to America, Death to Israel, Curse on the Jews, Victory to Islam”…

It is obvious that saudis have no skill to fight. It would be better off paying to black water to fight instead

Blackwater doesn’t exist anymore but it seems that Erik Prince built a smaller company (he sold all his BW assets, they were resold 1 or 2 times since and then have merged with former Triple Canopy) and some say his company was hired by KSA and mostly pays 10$/day for former Sierra Leone/Liberia child-soldiers… Clearly not the same price to have former Seals, Delta Force, SAS, SBS or Commando Hubert/Trepel/French Foreign Legion guys…
Didn’t verified from multiple sources but my contact in western Africa told me that a mercenary-company was recruiting ex-child soldiers so it makes sense.

Nope, I have friends in the region, notably in Liberia, Sierra-Leone and Guinea. You should visit! It’s really magnificent and things have greatly improved in recent years, even if there was an Ebola spread (anyway, Ebola is a joke if compared to malaria. Don’t forget to get vaccinated if you pay a visit in the area, mosquitoes are a real plague, LOL). Just hope the bokos and other shits don’t spillover there, they have already too much suffered in these areas. Well, at least, as it was the case for Mali, Guinea (where I have the more buddies), I know… Read more »

Yeah it’s massive. I am following it diligently. They’re capitalizing on the explosion in the defense factories in Safira. This offensive was planned for weeks and Muheisni spoke of it religiously in the past week.

Yes, it’s the hugest one. They lose, and they permanently lost Aleppo. This is make or break. They won’t recover from this loss. I hope it does come down to this.

KSA is the 3rd military spending but, 2nd is China, bur… remember that the russian weapons factories are mostly still state-owned so they pay much less than Rosonboronexport (which is state-owned too) asks for and even take benefits from the international sales… Hard to say about China but it’s likely to work the same way. If you compare at a real cost/salaries etc level, China’s expenses may be of the same level as the US and Russia being 2nd. At the contrary, saudis will pay probably more than others : I’ve red they payed 1.1bln$ for 15,000 TOWs in 2014…… Read more »

In fact, in a certain way, it’s the shah’s own fault : he let Khomeiny come back in Iran and, BTW, he had proposals from a european foreign minister to make Khomeiny disappear… He’d probably became a Bigeard’s shrimp, dropped from a chopper somewhere in Mediterranean sea with concrete boots… Frankly, in this case, I’m not supportive to any side : huthis are shia islamists, KSA is a Daesh that succeeded… But one thing is clear : Hadi was hijacking the yemeni constitution in order to become a life-term president and was grooming his son to replace him after so… Read more »

The Saudi must should stop trusting ABM systems. The Saudis use best ABM that money can buy. But ABM are not reliable. It suggests THAAD is not reliable once the nukes go off. No ABM has been tested in EMP explosion. The DPRK nukes will announce far more than 179 deaths when swarm nukes are launched.
