The Chinese newspaper “Soho” reported that India may use modern Russian weapons in its confrontation with China through the use of the new Russian “Armata” tank.
The Chinese newspaper indicated, based on military information, that India has concluded urgent military agreements with Russia to receive additional weapons and military equipment, including new ones, including modern Armata tanks, Su-30 and MiG-29 warplanes, and Ka 226 military helicopters.
According to the Soho report, the Indian military activity indicates the urgent need to modernize their weapons that are old and unable to confront the Chinese military force, which is developing constantly and very quickly.
The report continued that India is working on several fronts to obtain modern weapons, most notably Russian, in addition to contracts for the supply of weapons from the United States, Israel, France and other countries that manufacture weapons.
The Chinese report revealed the details of arms contracts with Russia, where New Delhi wants to buy about 500 T-90 Armata tanks to support its ground forces. The report added that India possesses about 700 American Apache helicopters and other foreign weapons.
The report concluded that India is strengthening its forces in front of the Chinese threat in the Ladakh region, but it is not developing its domestic military industries like Beijing, which is developing its domestic weapons and enhancing its combat capabilities at a rapid pace.
