The late commander of Jaysh Al-Islam (Army of Islam) – Zahran Alloush – is being heralded by many publications as some-kind of “hero” or “revolutionary” that was meant to lead the Syrian population from the depths of Hades to eternal light in Elysium.

However, one problem: Zahran Alloush is the quintessential example of what is wrong with the Islamist rebels inside of Syria.

Alloush was a notorious bigot that possessed little regard for the lives he terrorized everyday inside the Syrian capital of Damascus.

Oh yes, the “hero” was well-known in Damascus; and it was not due to his redeeming qualities or his humanitarianism.

The man that is being mourned by Islamists across Syria was the same terrorist that called upon his militants to fire indiscriminate rockets into Damascus, killing and wounding several civilians he claimed he was “liberating” from Dr. Bashar Al-Assad.

Then there were his famous kidnappings – who can forget the hundreds of families kidnapped at the industrial town of ‘Adra in late 2013?

The liberator of the Syrian people was freeing the civilians from the government he deemed “evil”, only to kidnap them and demand ransom for their release.

Perhaps one of Zahran Alloush’s greatest qualities was his unwavering sectarianism that he had no issue boasting about.

Time after time, Zahran Alloush would commend terrorists like Osama bin Laden, while also calling for the extermination of Alawite and Shiite Muslims.

Those calling Zahran Alloush anything other than a terrorist must have forgotten why he was imprisoned in Syria before the war – trust me, it was not due to his advocacy for democratic Syria.

While the Islamists in Syria mourn his death, the people of Damascus are celebrating his demise with the same sweets he passed out to his fighters after they fired missiles into the most densely populated neighborhoods in Syria.

  • Name-calling
  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.

Anyone who has no respect for human and human lives has no quality or respect of a leader. The only people he will lead are just like him, blood thirsty terrorist. May God punish him more in the h**l fire forever.AMIN
