BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:20 A.M.) – The Russian Air Force unleashed a flurry of airstrikes over the western countryside of the Idlib Governorate last night.

According to a military source in the Latakia Governorate, the Russian jets took off from the Hmeimim Airbase near the coastal city of Jableh last night; they would make their way to western Idlib, where they launched at least 30 airstrikes.

The Russian Air Force reportedly targeted several areas in western Idlib, including Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s main supply route along the Idlib-Aleppo Highway.

These Russian airstrikes were heavily concentrated on the part of the Idlib-Aleppo Highway near the large town of Ariha.

As shown in the short video below, the Russian attack was carried out late last night and it targeted the area around the Idlib-Aleppo Highway:

Last night’s airstrikes by the Russian Air Force was arguably the largest attack carried out by the latter this year.

The Russian Air Force has become more active over the last 48 hours, with several airstrikes carried out in the Idlib, Homs, and Deir Ezzor governorates.

The attack on the Homs and Deir Ezzor governorates targeted the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) terrorist group near the Palmyra-Deir Ezzor Highway.
