BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:30 P.M.) – On Saturday, ANNA News released quite possibly the most in-depth footage of the 2016 Battle of Aleppo.
In this hour and a half long video, ANNA News conducts several interviews and takes the viewer through the streets of Aleppo, where some of the most intense clashes took place in 2016.
In particular, ANNA News conducts interviews with the leadership of Liwaa Al-Quds, which is a pro-government Palestinian paramilitary force that led several battles in east Aleppo.
The 2016 Battle of Aleppo began in August, when the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and their allies began a major push in the northeastern part of the city.
By December 2016, a large portion of the city was under the government control, leaving only a few eastern districts left under jihadist control.
As 2017 approached, the Syrian Army was able to impose full control over east Aleppo for the first time since 2012.
