Please treat this discussion with the same respect you would a public park. We, too, are a shared community resource — a place to share skills, knowledge and interests through ongoing conversation.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.

Why the fück SyAAF doesn’t customises some old Antonov An-12 as gunships, AC-130 style? An-12 could loiter for many hours. FLIR + 2 guns from a Zu-57-2, a 100mm from a T-55 and two GSh-6-30 Gatlings and you’re even more devastating than AC-130.

Customising agricultural aircraft like Air-Tractor AT802 does great too : up to 390kg payload, can loiter for 8-10 hours. Several countries already bought the AT802F.

This is the problem with jets or choppers : they can’t loiter for long while propeller aircraft do… Drones too, but they’re too lightly armed. There are small 8.5kg, 20kg guided bombs allowing to engage many targets…
