Update: Up to 36 people were killed, dozens others injured as a suicide blast rocked a Syrian border-town with Turkey.

Social media activists confirmed that most of the killed in Atmeh crossing border are militants fighting under the anti-ISIS, Turkish-backed Operation Euphrates Shield, including Ahrar al-Sham military commander Hisham Khalifah, and head of Supreme Judiciary Authority in Aleppo, Khalid al-Sayyed.

ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack via an official statement released on its social media account, Aamaq Agency.

Pro-rebel activists reported the attack was carried by either an exclusive vest of a booby-trapped handbag, ruling out the narrative circulated on social media about a VBIED explosion.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.

I dunno that ISIS did that. PKK ? Turkey supporting ISIS then they are total enemies with each other ? Does not make enough sense to me. But, on the other hand, just as well to let them believe it was ISIS, should that be what they really actually believe.

I suppose this could be classed as a Black on Black attack 🙂
