Al-Hasakah, Syria (5:45 A.M.) – The Kurdish police (Asayish) and government-backed “National Defense Forces” (NDF) are engaged in an all-out battle for control of Hasakah City after a small skirmish on Wednesday erupted into a fierce engagement around the provincial capital.

According to the latest ground reports, the Asayish, backed by the People’s Protection Units (YPG), are attempting to advance at the Guweiran District in east Hasakah; meanwhile, the National Defense Forces vie for control of the western neighborhoods of the Al-Nashwa District.

Both parties claim they are advancing against one another; however, very little footage has been released to corroborate these reports.

The Asayish recently claimed that their forces captured the Al-Beiruti Bridge at the Askari-Guweiran axis, but this report was denied by government activists.

The Syrian Air Force did not launch any airstrikes over Al-Hasakah during the twilight hours on Thursday, despite contradictory claims made by PYD and YPG social media activists.

I agree, especially given our track record on Syria. We’ll fight the Assad government to our proxies’ last drop of blood. Our rulers have no conception of honor.

YPG didn’t attacked anyone. There are cyclical tensions between Asayish and NDF (Assad fan paramilitaries) for months. There were already harshests skirmishes in the past, SyAAF didn’t intervened and both YPG and SAA managed to calm down both camps. Has Assad became suicidal??? If he launches a war against SDF, russians are very likely to stay neutral, I don’t think westerners will, at best, they’ll put up a no fly zone and SyAAF may lose aircrafts or much worst… Or does Assad wants Daesh to win over the kurds… Well maybe russian intel makes him know that Qaedans/FSA had now… Read more »

Just what the regime change dr ordered.. w*f did the saa bomb them. Better yet why not just work out a deal for safe passage and give up gov areas to the kurds. I know its a tough deal, but you have to look at the big picture here.

Because the Assyrian Christians live in that area. It’s Syrian land and the Kurds have no right to land grab parts of Syria.
The Kurds have never had their own country because they were nomadic travellers, moving from season to season. So all this talk about ‘their’ right to their own land is bullshit!!
Stealing parts of Syria is no different to the Israelis stealing land from the Palestinians!
This cannot be allowed to happen!

Good question Deny, essentially the kurds are very similar to the Israeli’s. An entity of parasites who feed of their hosts. the kurds want their own state, for nomads this is very strange. In Syria everyone has lived together until now, the Kurds/ Isreali are conducting ethnic cleansing as in Palestine the NDF is trying to stop this.

Kurds, Kurds and Kurds. Aren’t they traitors already?. They’ve surrendered Syrian territories to the American/Zionist. They Kurds are not good citizens, I knew this will come and that SAA will eventually has to fight the Kurds.

If Syria don’t deal with the Kurds NATO/American forces will slice off Syrian territories for a military base in the name of fighting ISIS without UN approval.

The regime didn’t bomb Hasakah it’s a false flag thought up by the western coalition and the Kurds to make the regime look bad and turn the Kurds against Assad because of the gains the regime has been making in Syria recently, Aleppo is still a stumbling block but it will eventually fall to the regime. The western coalition still want to control Syria so if the Kurds do their dirty work for them they’ll be happy.

is this really a priority for the SAA/NDF? Seems useless.

US doesn’t support any groups that fight Assad, actually. In the north, they haven’t had anti-Assad proxies since Nusra wiped out Harakat Hazm 2 years ago. In the south, they haven’t had proxies for 7 months, since SF kicked the bucket, and even SF was a Jordanian-Saudi project that the US was participating in to appease the Saudis. Rebels that sign up for America’s train and equip program actually have to sign waivers that say they can only fight against IS, not the SAA, you know. In all likelihood, SAA-SDF war would lead to a decrease of American aid to… Read more »

The NDF there is mainly made up of Assyrian Christians protecting their interests and homes in the area… The Kurds speak of democracy but wish to forcefully remove them from the land. What the backstabbing Kurds are doing is no different than what the Israeli parasites, stealing the land of the Palestinian people are doing! It’s not ‘ok’ to steal parts of Syria for themselves when the Kurds have always been historically a nomadic people they ‘NEVER’ owned their own lands. b****y trouble making US using their puppets again to cause more mayhem, because it didn’t work out so great… Read more »

OK : now I understand some more things :
Erdoğan: “YPG’s actions in Syria’s north threaten national security in south, if necessary Turkey will intervene there as well”.
Now, if it happens, let’s hope that F.Hollande stays true to his word and well, Rafales still had no opportunities to down other planes for real. It would f*****g boost sales especially that for now, not a single 5th gen jetfighter had such opportunity. and well, if two Rafales down a full squadron, it’d be really bad-a*s…
