On Friday, the U.S.-led international coalition launched airstikes on positions of the so-called “Islamic State of Iraq and Syria” (ISIS) in Palmyra countryside for the first time ever since the ‘Inherent Resolve’ operation commenced in 2014.
The coalition’s fighter jets targeted the areas of Palmyra Grain Silos (east of the city) and Jazal Oil Field (northwest of the city). As a result, a battle tank and an artillery position belonging to ISIS were destroyed.
Video footage of the airstrikes on the aforementioned areas can be seen below:
It is noteworthy to mention that the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and allies will benefit from this air raid as ISIS would have likely used that military equipment against them.
