U.S. aircraft carrier Ike joined the fight against ISIS from the Mediterranean where aircraft carrier Dwight D. Eisenhower has been launching attacks on ISIS for almost a month now.

With the present American administration’s term coming to an end, the war against ISIS has only intensified as the US intends to drive ISIS out of the remaining strongholds they maintain in Iraq. Following a streak of uncontested victories in Iraq, the Iraqi armed forces have almost completely expelled ISIS from Anbar governorate with preparations being finalized for the upcoming offensives in Shirqat and Al Qaim.

A video showing Ike in action is linked here: https://youtu.be/0JebNLHunec

If they wanted to do it, they’d have made it for long: It’s MUCH more cheaper to put 54 tons of iron bombs in a B-1B or 35/40 tons in a B-52 and totally carpet bombs full towns at once than using 100k$ Hellfire missiles to make shawarma of 2 or 3 bearded idiots with sandals, AKM in a Toyota pickup with a vintage ZSU-23-2 from the 50’s… Well, things may become cheaper : I’ve red that now the US buy the Raytheon Talon laser guidance kit for their old Hydra70 rockets… It’s still 30k$ per kit, thus, using smaller… Read more »

Err, seriously, a F/A-18E/F Super-Hornet going on mission with 4*Mk82 227kg and a ventral tank, the follower a F/A-18C/D Hornet (much older : made before Boeing bought McDonnell-Douglas) with 3 tanks and 2*Mk81 Snakeye (AKA ‘Firecracker’) 113kg iron bombs, they are f*****g kiding. BTW, normally, on bombing mission, you don’t put a single 113kg bomb under a pylon : there are racks to put 3 or 6 Mk-81 or Mk-82 per pylon!
