DAMASCUS, SYRIA (4:25 P.M.) – Militants of the Free Syrian Army (FSA), supported by Turkish military, are finalizing preparations for a major assault against Kurdish fighters in Afrin district located in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

“We are ready for the battle that will be launched after a few days to liberate our [brothers] the Kurds in Afrin from the separatist groups. We support them and aid them”, an FSA commander commented.

Yesterday, the Turkish artillery bombed several positions for the People’s Protection Units (YPG) in Afrin ahead of an anticipated ground incursion.

In response, huge reinforcements for the Kurdish militia have poured into Afrin in order to help repel the expected Turkish attack.

Meanwhile, Syrian Deputy-Foreign Minister stated that the Syrian Army’s air defense and ground troops are ready to repel the Turkish aggression against the Syrian soil.
