DAMASCUS, SYRIA (1:45 A.M.) – US-supplied TOW missiles are doing the dirty work for jihadist militants in rural Hama as Syrian Arab Army (SAA) tanks came under repeated fire during counter-insurgency operations in central Syria on Tuesday.

At least three SAA tanks took direct hits to their armor amid a massive mobilization on both sides of the battlefield; Al-Masdar News could not verify whether all three armored vehicles were destroyed as claimed by Ahrar Al-Sham and Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.

The US-manufactured TOW missile is often described as a key factor of keeping the Syrian revolution alive due to the deadly weapon destroying hundreds of SAA tanks since 2011.

Nevertheless, Islamist rebels suffered substantial casualties of their own as the SAA conducted a succesful ambush in northwestern Hama and scored modest gains in the embattled governorate on Tuesday.

40,000 civilians have fled the fighting in Hama so far.

Hope the crew is ok. Maybe – because only a tank that has a secondary explosion is really destroyed. It did not look that way to me. I do not have sharp eyes. Or maybe it is the quality of the film. p.s. A tank that is not really destroyed will end with the side that holds the field after the battle. One of the changes that came with Russia joining the Syrian war in 2016 was that more damaged SAA tanks were salvaged and repaired. This IMHO has historical reasons. Russia and Germany salvaged considerable amounts of enemy tanks… Read more »

The description of this foreign aggression and invasion of Syria by the US, Turkey, Saudi and co as some sort of revolution is sickening. Let’s call a spade a spade for once. In Hama for example we have Turkish invasion special forces embedded with their foreign mercenary terror squads and with Turkish tanks and armour. The invasion of Syria started in 2011 like the invasion of Libya. In Libya foreign mercenaries invaded from Mulim brotherhood Egypt and Tunisia and by sea into Misrata under the cover of evacuating personnel. On Syria the invasion is comng from Turkey, Jordan, Iraq and… Read more »

Kardes, I do not like the Jhadi at all. So whoever beats them is my favorite.

p.s. I see Your point. But that Erdogan supports them is probably the reason why the US chose the Kurds as allies in their fight against Jhadi.
