BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:21 A.M.) – Three alleged members of the outlawed Hizb ut-Tahrir organisation were arrested by Russian state security officers in a house located at an undisclosed location between Moscow Region and Penza Region on Wednesday.
The raid was carried out by officers from the Federal Security Service (FSB), with the cooperation of representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During a targeted search of the property, officers detained three people, one of whom is an alleged leader within the group.
Banned literature and numerous electronic devices that contained propaganda materials were also seized in the operation.
Hizb ut-Tahrir is considered a terrorist group in Russia and has been banned by the Russian Federation as well as by Germany, China, Egypt and Turkey.
