BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:40 P.M.) – On Wednesday, the Syrian Arab Army – spearheaded by the elite Tiger Forces Division – continued its offensive operation in Idlib province, striking west of the Abu Duhur military airport in the direction of Saraqib city.
In a matter of hours after kicking-off their assault, elite Syrian troops – backed up by artillery and airpower assets – swept through ten towns and villages en-route to Saraqib.
Moreover, the Syrian Army reclaimed a long-lost air defense base in addition to its seizing of nearly a dozen towns.
The speed of the Syrian Army advance west of the Abu Dhur military airport reinforced by the sheer amount of stand-off firepower (i.e. tanks, artillery and warplanes) it is able to unleash on any given point of contact within the target sector is forcing militant groups to simply abandon their defenses (most of which are new-built since rebel groups never expected Syrian troops to penetrate this far into Idlib in the first place) or otherwise risk being cut-off and annihilated.
