DAMASCUS, SYRIA (11:00 P.M.) – Heavy clashes continue to rage through Syria’s southern city of Daraa as the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and jihadist belligerents attempt to advance on each other on Monday.
While over a dozen joint Russian and Syrian airstrikes struck rebel-held urban areas of Daraa, the SAA targeted insurgent positions in the southern sector of the city utilizing a variety of firepower.
Specifically, SAA forwards units pounded rearguard Islamist militants at the Al-Karak and Al-Abassyah districts with ATGM’s, missiles and 23mm gunfire:
Yesterday, Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham retook a building in the embattled Al-Manshiyah district; despite substantial casualties in both government and rebel ranks, neither side has managed to achieve a much-needed breakthrough yet.
