DAMASCUS, SYRIA (11:10 A.M.) – Slightly outdated footage has emerged from the outskirts of the Al-Qaboun district in east Damascus showing the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) pushing through the adjacent groves area as previously reported by Al-Masdar News.
Our partners at Ruptly (Russia Today) released a video on the topic:
Most recently, the SAA’s 4th Mechanized Dision alongside Republican Guards captured three mosques in a section of northeastern part of the district, moving ever closer to downtown Al-Qaboun and the key Electric Grid Station.
AL-Qaboun is one of few districts in the Syrian capital still controlled by Islamist insurgents. The SAA hopes to dislodge militants from Damascus and restore the city entirely under government control for the first time since 2012.
