The Syrian Army, backed by allied forces, foiled the massive attack launched yesterday by jihadi groups in Al-Zahraa district and the Cement Factory.
According to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), at least 35 militants were killed during their failed bid to seize the Cement Factory, located to the southeast of Ramouseh district.
The Factory bears a strategic significance as it overlooks the road leading to the rebel-held areas in east Aleppo, thus making the whole battles fought to lift the siege pointless since all convoys meant to pass are easy targets.
Footage filmed from inside the Cement Factory shows dead bodies of jihadists with their identity cards, and categorically proves the government troops in full control of the strategic facility.
