ANNA News has released video footage of the Syrian Army’s Republic Guards and the Qud’s Forces conducting operations against militants in western Aleppo countryside.

Although the Syrian Army and its allies successful expelled all terrorist groups from the economic and industrial heart of Sryia, Aleppo city, the threat to the city still remains.

The areas immediately to the west of the city limits still remains in the hands of the terrorist groups, particularly in the districts of Rashidin and Kafr Hamra, as well as the two bridgehead. The extremists can use these areas as a staging point to try and re-capture the city.

The militants on a daily basis shell the liberated neighborhoods of Dahid al-Assad, Hamdaniyah and Zahra.

The main aim of the Syrian Army offensive is to create a greater buffer between the militants and Aleppo city. However, the offensive has seen only limited success with only a few buildings in Zahree and Rashideen 5 captured.
