BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:58 A.M.) – Syrian Army personnel inspected the Shayrat airbase in Homs which was struck by US missile earlier on early Friday morning.
Dozens of representatives of the Syrian Arab Army toured the base, inspecting the damage done to the hangars and examining craters formed from the bombs outside of the base.
The representatives also visited a nearby hospital where they spoke with those injured in the attack.
On Friday the Al-Shayrat Airbase was the target of a US Tomahawk missile strike ordered by US President Donald Trump. Trump said the attack was a direct response to Tuesday’s alleged chemical weapons attack in Khan Sheikhoun near Idlib for which he holds Syrian President Bashar al-Assad responsible.
A total of 59 tomahawk missiles were fired at the base in the Homs governorate, at 4:40 local time (00:40 GMT) on Friday.
