DAMASCUS, SYRIA (4: 25 P.M.) – Battles escalated in the eastern city Deir Ezzor as the Islamic State launches, for the second day, a massive assault on government-held parts as the terror group loses more ground in the Syrian Desert.
Today, three command centers for the jihadists in al-Mariyah town, located to the east of the city’s government-held airbase, have been completely destroyed by the Syrian Air Force, killing and injuring all militants inside.
Elsewhere to the west of the airbase, the Syrian fighter jets devastated 7 machinegun-mounted pickups, fully manned with ISIS militants while mobilizing to pour into the frontlines against the Syrian troops.
Yesterday, up to 60 ISIS jihadists were killed and injured in the 1st day of the failed offensive.
Meanwhile, Russian planes continue to provide the embattled city with the basic needs. Some 20 tons of humanitarian aid was airdropped on Tuesday.
