BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:25 P.M.) – Forces of the Syrian Arab Army on the eastern shore of the Euphrates River have begun a new push, assaulting two ISIS-occupied towns north of Deir Ezzor city.
According to military sources, units of the Syrian Arab Army on the eastern bank of the Euphrates started an offensive this morning to drive ISIS from the towns of Janenah and Husanyah.
Syrian troops jumped off from their positions around Hatlah Fouqani which was liberated yesterday.
Furthermore, other units of the Syrian Arab Army began to attack ISIS inside Deir Ezzor city itself and are currently advancing towards the district of Ummal.
Footage (below) was released by Hezbollah’s media wing today showing Syrian Army troops in the town of Hatlah Fouqani after it was secured from Islamic State militants.
