Russian Defense Ministry announced that 6 TU-22M3 long-range bombers conducted, yesterday, intensifying airstrikes against ISIS positions in the Syrian desert.

The massive aerial campaign targeted Mount Oubayrah, T-3 airport’s annex, Arak Gas treatment facility and T-3 pumping station; all located in an oil-rich area to east of the ancient city of Palmyra on the road to the ISIS-held of Deir ez-Zor.

“The strikes destroyed a command point, a militant field camp, two oil pumping sites, a significant number of enemy personnel and hardware,” the military reported.
