DAMASCUS, SYRIA (3:43 P.M.) – Huge explosions rocked the jihadi-held city of Jisr al-Shughur of Idlib province as Russian fighter jets delivered deadly airstrikes against several jihadi targets.
The airstrikes come in response for the jihadi groups breaching the agreed-on ceasefire by launching a surprise attack against the Syrian Army in northern Latakia countryside.
Militants said they are attacking the government forces to express ‘solidarity with fellow insurgents in Eastern Ghouta region’ who are steadily losing ground to the Syrian government troops.
Local sources confirmed that at least 3 rebel fighters were killed, several others wounded when their hideout in al-Ghassaniyah town of Jisr al-Shughur was hit by a Russian missile.
In a related context, 2 militants were killed by Syrian Army fire on their position in Kabbani, northern Latakia countryside in retaliation for rebel offensive.
