BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:55 A.M.) – During the night hours of Monday afternoon to Tuesday morning, Russian warplanes targeted Islamist militias affiliated to both Al-Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood in southern Idlib province.
The Russian bombardment was carried out using precision munitions; it targeted weapons and ammunition storage sites as well as military camps and rear bases used by jihadist rebels.
According to sources, militant forces were engaged at the towns of Maar Zita, Maar Harmeh Tarrii.
Recently, opposition sources released footage captured by local activists showing the moment a Russian guided bomb struck a rebel military site within the town of Maar Harmeh.
