DAMASCUS, SYRIA (6:45 P.M.) – Rebel fighters managed to destroy two tanks for the Syrian Army while advancing toward Salim town in the northern countryside of Homs.

Even though the FSA-linked militants foiled the Syrian Army assault, yet they sustained heavy losses with scores killed and wounded in the battles outside the town.

Video footage published online shows the FSA-affiliated Jund Badr faction targeting Army tanks with ATGMs.

Real stupid on the part of the 2nd tank crew, they were staying put after the 1st tank was neutralized. They had just about enough time to start the tank and move away. Rather both the tanks were sitting ducks. Very poor judgement on the battle field commander who is in-charge. The enemy is so close with ATGMs and the SAA should have anticipated such an attack. They should go in for that ATGM kill now.

2 tanks were too many. they were displayed on the open field exactly for that reason.

Such an interesting video. I’ve never been part of tank tactics on singel unit or “platoon” level, hence I’ve been bothered with so many questions. One has always been, why are they always able to target those vehicles while standing in the open, standing still and unconcealed or badly concealed. Sometimes I can have assumptions, other times I can not. Now in this case, seeing the reaction of personnel after the first hit and judging by the direction of the turets, my assumption is that they judged the threat was located in another direction, while being attacked from a side… Read more »

Pretty cheap propaganda. So they are telling us that SAA just left 2 tanks on the open, once one got hit they started to run around like bunch of sheeps and did not even try to drive the 2nd tank away? m’key!
