DAMASCUS, SYRIA (5: 15 P.M.) – One Syrian Army troop was killed, two others injured as jihadi rebels attacked an outpost for the government forces in northern Latakia countryside.
According to a military source, hardline militants of Ahrar al-Sham fired a guided missile on a group of Syrian troops – while on non-combat position – positioned in al-Ziyarah hilltop of the Turkmen Moutain in northern Latakia countryside.
“One soldier was immediately killed while the two others survived with injuries,” the source added.
The attack is seen as a flagrant violation of the “de-escalation zones’ agreement brokered by Russia, Iran and Turkey, which aims at reducing the violence in many region across Syria.
In a related context, the Hmeimim-based Russian Center for Reconciliation reported 9 other violations of the aforementioned agreement, which took place in Daraa and Damascus.
