DAMASCUS, SYRIA (0:25 A.M.) – Fresh footage was published by ISIS on Monday showing a recent raid on one of the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) desert fortifications along the provincial border between Homs and Deir Ezzor, not far from the border with Iraq.
The large-scale raid is believed to have occured some time last week and had an entire garrison of SAA troops fleeing the site or killed on the spot.
Viewer discretion is advised:
At the time, ISIS’ main media wing Amaq Agency claimed upwards of 100 government soldiers were killed. In reality, the number is estimated at less than half missing or killed-in-action.
Shortly after, the SAA retook all lost points with Russian air support although Islamic State belligerents did manage to seize a number of bulldozers, BM-21 Grad rocket launchers and machine-gun manned vehicles from the targeted area.
