DAMASCUS, SYRIA (11:30 P.M.) – On Friday around noon, Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) and its allies overran multiple sites south Maardes town in the Hama Plains after expelling the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) from the storage facility.
Preluded by shelling and anti-tank missile attack HTS overran the Maardes Silos, Al-Tarabia checkpoint and Maardes army base as the SAA largely withdrew from the aforementioned areas.
These areas otherwise captured by the SAA four days ago.
Both sides sustained heavy casualties amid the clashes while HTS destroyed a government bulldozer at point 50, a nearby hill. Pictures of the HTS operations:
Meanwhile, the FSA-linked Jaish al-Nasr rebel group launched GRAD rockets on Hama Airbase once again in a bid to immobilize jets at the airfield:
On the other hand, new Tiger Forces reinforcements arrived in northern Hama earlier today, suggesting the SAA to be regrouping for a counter-offensive.
