DAMASCUS, SYRIA (7:00 P.M.) – After repelling a government counter-offensive overnight, rebel forces in Quneitra province unleashed a barrage of firepower on the town of Madinat Al-Baath, considered a formidable fortification for the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).
In what seemed to be an attempt to restart the stalled ‘Road to Damascus’ offensive, Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) and Free Syrian Army (FSA) factions – unified under the newly established ‘Army of Muhammed’ operations room, began targeting Madinat Al-Baath with multiple US-manufactured TOW guided missiles on Thursday morning, striking any movements observed inside the impregnable SAA stronghold.
Al-Masdar News was unable to obtain information regarding SAA casualties due to the renewed attacks.
Remarkably, the Israeli Air Force has conducted three sorties in support of the jihadist rebels in what appears to be a pragmatic alliance between Tal Aviv and an Al-Qaeda franchise group.
