BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:45 P.M.) – Well-known Jewish American activist Ariel Gold was verbally and physically assaulted by a female Israeli settler in the West Bank city of Hebron yesterday whilst she was walking towards a bus station.
During the event, Gold pulled out her phone and filmed the incident on ‘Facebook Live’ in the hope that this would deter the aggressive Israeli colonist. Instead, as it turned out, this only encouraged the settler and one of her children to try and grab the phone and hit Gold in the face.
Whilst under attack, Gold attempted to ask onlooking IDF soldiers to help her in some way, to which they responded by telling her to call the police. At no point did the soldiers attempt to restrain the abusive colonist.
The Israeli colonist who attacked Gold has been identified as Anita Cohen, a mother of twenty (20) children. She is known in Hebron as one of the city’s most violent settlers.
