DAMASCUS, SYRIA (8:30 P.M.) – Territorial advances near the East Ghouta town of Bait Nayem yesterday proved somewhat costly for the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) Republican Guards and National Defence Forces (NDF), newly released rebel footage suggests.

Jaish Al-Islam released a video on Saturday showing its snipers in action after what proved to be a carefully planned tactical withdrawal from a number of sites on the outskirts of Bait Nayem. At least 8 SAA soldiers were shot, some of whom died on the spot.

Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) was also present in the area despite recent clashes and ongoing tensions between the two jihadist factions.

Sporadic skirmishes also continued on Saturday between government forces on one side and Islamist factions on the other with the latter sustaining casualties of their own.

Level IV body armours can nearly stop anything up to .300ultra-mag/.338Lapua armour-piercing. It becomes more difficult for higher calibers but in fact, it mostly depends on speed : a .50 shot from +1000m has already lost a lot of energy. Now you seem to not get that there are no sniper dedicated areas. A good sniper may even move between EACH shot! Area denial is marksman job. Snipers are here for attrition and as you simply can’t know where and when they’ll hit… Moreover, they’re always devastating for morals. Not rare they score + a hundred, but the most vicious… Read more »

There are even special anti-sniper turrets for IFV that automatically recognise the noise of all typical sniper calibers and direct a heavy MG or auto-cannon on where the shots came from.
Thus it might also f**k up anti-sniper job by shooting at your own ones too.
