Islamic State fighters have seized a Russian military base in Palmyra after a massive attack launched by the terror group.
A video clip was released by ISIS media wing on social media, Aamaq Agency, showing several ISIS fighters inside the Russian base which also served as the accommodation area for Russian personnel.
The video also displayed great quantities of weapons and ammunition seized by the jihadists.
Russian forces have reportedly blew up its heavy arms depots before they withdrew from the base to avoid being used by ISIS.
ISIS stormed the desert city of Palmyra last Sunday after conducting multiple suicide attacks against government forces defending the city.
The terror group was expelled from Palmyra on March 2016 by the Syrian Army and Russian forces.
