DAMASCUS, SYRIA (1:30 P.M.) – Having expelled the Islamic State from the ancient city of Palmyra early on March, the Russian-trained ISIS Hunters continue its military operation to secure the country’s gas fields in eastern Homs.
The recently-formed squad has been making progressive achievements in the Syrian Desert, increasingly liberating large swathes of territories from the terror group.
Trained by the Russian Special Forces and equipped with the most advanced weapons, the Hunters have been specifically formed to defend and secure the strategically and economically-important area which contains the country’s most productive gas fields.
ISIS has been using the illegal oil and gas trade to generate huge returns which significantly helped the group to recruit more fighters and cater their needs.
However, the major blows inflicted upon the group – primarily by the Syrian and Russian Air Force – have extensively damaged its trade.
