BEIRUT, LEBANON (09:54 P.M.) – The Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) and the Iraqi Army launched an operation to liberate Badush prison and Badush sub-district, located to the northwest of the embattled city of Mosul, just days ago.
The PMU’s Brigade-26 and the Iraqi Army’s 9th Armored Division are leading the charge against the ISIS terrorist group stormed Badush district hours ago making significant gains.
Badush prison, located 10km northwest of Mosul, has just been liberated by the combined Iraqi forces.
Badush prison is the site of where 670 people, mostly Shi’ite, Kurdish and Yazidi, were massacred by ISIS in June 2014.
Meanwhile, a video has been released by the Iraqi Air Force of an ISIS jihadist getting thrown into the air while attempting to plant a road side bomb.
