DAMASCUS, SYRIA (10:30 P.M.) – The only road linking Aleppo to southern Syria is officially closed following a number of Islamic State hit-and-run attacks that have destroyed multiple armored vehicles belonging to the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).

Photos released by Amaq Agency on Sunday purportedly depict a burning SAA T-72 tank and BMP-1 on the narrow Salamiyah-Aleppo supply line in the aftermath of the attacks.

Near Palmyra, a government tank was also hit by an Islamic State missile on Monday as the latter continuously attempts to curtail the SAA’s advances en route to Deir Ezzor.
