The Islamic States in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) repelled a joint attack launched by Turkish military and Kurdish Peshmerga fighters on Barima village, near Bashiqa Mountain ,located nearly 20 km northeast of the group’s stronghold of Mosul.
Fighter jets belonging to the US-led coalition participated in the offensive, pounding jihadis’ position.
The village is Barima serves as the line dividing the battlefront between ISIS-held areas and those under the control of Peshmerga.
The attacking forces retreated after failing to advance in an area, having lost scores of fighters and a military tank.
