BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:00 P.M.) – As the battle for the Islamic State capital city of Al-Mayadeen rages on, it has become apparent that gun fire can come from any direction and nobody – not even news teams – are safe from jihadist militants.
Footage was released on social media today showing the moment that a camera crew of the Iranian TV Irinn news group came under a murderous hail of ISIS machine gun fire.
The Iranian news crew was embedded with Syrian Army units at the time of the attack.
The reporters were forced to take cover behind a nearby wall whilst Syrian troops moved into position to return fire on the jihadist attackers.
At the present time, Syrian Army forces have gained control of more than 50 percent of Al-Mayadeen and, having trapped ISIS militants against the western bank of the Euphrates River, are now pushing into the city’s northern districts.
