BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:50 A.M.) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that Iran’s “greatness” in the region is “more than any other time,” speaking at a commemorative ceremony in Tehran on Monday.
He followed, “In Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, the north of Africa, in the Persian Gulf region, where can action be taken without Iran?”
The Iranian President stated that US President Donald Trump, despite being critical against the Iran nuclear deal, “still hasn’t been able to do anything with this agreement.”
He then pointed out that international support to Trump is waning, saying, “When was the time that the president of the US says a word and the entire world disagrees with him? When was it in history?”
Trump’s refusal to certify the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on October 13 created a rift between Washington and Tehran, with Trump arguing that Iran failed to comply with the JCPOA nuclear deal and accusing Iran of “sponsorship of terrorism.”
