BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:45 A.M.) – Recently Houthi rebels, backed up by pro-Saleh factions of the Yemen Army, captured a number of military bases of the Saudi Army on the territory of Saudi Arabia itself. Houthi media recorded footage showing the aftermath of a successful storming of one these bases.

The Saudi installation in question is the al-Majaza Base which is located in Asir region of south Saudi Arabia. The base was captured yesterday.

According to sources, Houthi forces stormed the base, forcing Saudi troops to retreat from it. After capturing the installation, the Yemeni rebels burned all abandoned military vehicles inside it and then seized weapons and ammunition of the Saudi Army which had also been left behind.

The taking of the al-Majaza Base was just one small engagement in a greater offensive launched by pro-Saleh Yemen Army forces and Houthi rebels on the territory of Saudi Arabia about one week ago.
