DAMASCUS, SYRIA (3: 00 P.M.) – The Lebanese Hezbollah group blitzed jihadists’ positions in West Qalamoun in a bid to secure the bordering area from potential threats.
Video footage published by the group’s media wing showed the highly-trained Hezbollah fighters targeting fortifications and barricades for the Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham – the Syrian al-Qaeda offshoot – in Juroud Fletah with heavy artillery and tanks.
Several jihadi rebels have been reported dead in the assault.
The Lebanese group has turned their attention to Juroud Fletah, aiming at cleansing the bordering area from jihadi militants and thus fully securing the Lebanon-Syria borders.
Earlier this week, Hezbollah handed over all its border outposts to the Lebanese Army after the group’s leader announced the completion of the military operation along the Syrian-Lebanese borders in Zabadani.
