BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:15 P.M.) – The Syrian Ministry of Defense released video footage, Monday, showing their armed forces advancing against the Islamic State (ISIL) terrorists in the eastern countryside of Palmyra.

In the video, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) can been targeting the Islamic State’s positions around the key town of Arak, which is located along the main highway to the Deir Ezzor Governorate.

Earlier today, the Syrian Arab Army resumed their offensive operations to capture Arak; thus far, they have managed to capture several points near the Mustadirah Mountains that overlook the town from its northwestern axis.

The operation is still ongoing at the moment, with the Syrian Arab Army quickly pushing southwest towards the gas fields adjacent to the town.
