ALEPPO, SYRIA (6:05 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army’s Republican Guard managed to capture the Farafira District of east Aleppo on Tuesday after launching a large-scale offensive that morning.

Video footage of the Syrian Arab Army inside the Farafira District was released by Hezbollah’s official media wing on Wednesday:

Since capturing the Farafira District, the Syrian Armed Forces have successfully demined the area and progressed eastward to continue their large-scale offensive.

Currently, the Syrian Armed Forces are attacking the jihadist rebels of Fatah Halab at 3 different axes, while their air force pounds the east Aleppo districts; this assault is likely to continue through the night.

Would I be correct in concluding that the Syrian army is workinig to cut in half the jihadi enclave in eastern Aleppo? That’s what it looks like to me based on my understanding of map of who’s where in Aleppo.
