BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:00 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a counter-attack in Deir Ezzor yesterday afternoon, targeting the Harabish District of the provincial capital after losing several points to the Islamic State terrorists.

The counter-attack was launched immediately after the Islamic State imposed fire control over the Syrian Arab Army’s main supply route from the provincial capital to the military airport.

In the short video above, the Syrian Arab Army can be seen attempting to recover ground around the Harabish District and small village of Jirayah, which are located at the northern flank of the Deir Ezzor Military Airport.

A senior officer from the Qassem Group of the Republican Guard told Al-Masdar on Tuesday morning that the Syrian Arab Army seized a number of points inside of the Harabish District, but they still have a long way to go before they can declare their supply route safe to use.

  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.
