BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:00 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) swept through several areas in northern Daraa, yesterday, following a number reconciliation deals across the province.
The Syrian Army’s advance in northern Daraa began when the rebel forces in the towns of ‘Ibtaa, Tafas, and Da’el agreed to reconcile with the government.
Following these reconciliations, the Syrian Army quickly swept through the area, seizing the ‘Ibtaa Dam and small town of Al-Ja’ylah from the Free Syrian Army (FSA).
As shown in the footage below from Hezbollah’s media wing, the Syrian Army is now in full control of the area between Sheikh Miskeen and ‘Ibtaa.
Since making these advances, the Syrian Army has held off from carrying out further west of this region in the Daraa Governorate.
The Syrian Army is now working to clear the remaining towns under the control of the rebel forces in eastern Daraa.
Once eastern Daraa is under their control, the Syrian military will likely intensify their operations around the provincial capital and Al-Quneitra Governorate’s border.
