BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:25 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has taken control of several areas in northern Daraa, today, following the withdrawal of most of the rebel forces.
To start the day, the rebel forces agreed to handover to the Syrian Arab Army the towns of Tafas, ‘Ibtaa, and Da’el, which are located directly north of the provincial capital of Daraa.
Following the reconciliation deal in these towns, the Syrian Arab Army launched a quick operation to clear the remaining sites between them and Sheikh Miskeen.
Backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF), the Syrian Arab Army was able to hold of the ‘Ibtaa Dam, Battalion 279 Base, Hamad Hill, and nearby town of Al-Ja’ylah.
As shown in the video below, the Syrian Army face some resistance in these areas before they were able to impose control over them.
